April 30, 2012: DEADLINE for clelejournal - Children's Literature in English Language Education e-journal Call for papers Vol 1, Issue 1, November 2012.  

April 27 - 29, 2012: I am at the 26th Annual APPI Conference, Motivated teachers make a difference, in Coimbra, Portugal.  I shall be sharing some of the results from my research in a talk entitled Interaction with picturebooks and literary understanding. 

May 2, 2012, I am giving a webinar, Picturebooks in ELT, as part of the scheduled Macmillan webinar series. I'll be talking about picturebooks by authors and illustrators such as Julia Donaldson and Emily Gravett. 

July 23 - 25, 2012, I am at the 2nd Art, Illustration and Visual Culture in Infant and Primary Education Conference in Aveiro, Portugal. I'll be talking about my research, giving a paper entitled, Children as meaning makers: interpretation and knowledge transfer prompted by the visual. 

August 23 - 26, 2012; I'm at the 23rd IBBY International Congress, Crossing boundaries: translations and migrations. in London, UK, where I am presenting with Luciano Camio from Argentina. Our talk is entitled, The Lost Thing: response to the book and the film in an English language classroom.
